We're doing chocolate banana bread, Domestic Goddish-style, y'all! Fudgy, chocolatey, banana deliciousness. You've had banana bread... banana bread with nuts... even banana bread with chocolate chips. But have you ever had chocolate banana bread with chocolate chips??? We think not. Give your next brunch party (or breakfast tomorrow!) a little flair.
Makes 1 loaf
Ingredients:
4 medium bananas, mashed
1 egg + 1 egg yolk, whisked
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
1 cup all purpose flour (or sub with almond flour plus a little extra for a denser and gluten-free version)
½ cup cocoa powder
½ cup light brown sugar (optional hehe - watch the video)
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tbsp black sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
•Preheat oven to 350F.
•In a medium bowl, combine mashed bananas, egg and egg yolk, and vanilla. Once melted butter is slightly cooled, whisk into banana mixture.
•In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar (if using), baking soda, and salt. Gently fold dry ingredients into banana mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
•Pour batter into a buttered loaf pan. Sprinkle top with sesame seeds of using. Bake 45-50 minutes until a toothpick (or knife) inserted comes out clean. CHOW DOWN!
